My name is Mark de Vere.

I live in the Napa Valley in California.

Amongst other things, I am a Master of Wine. This means that I passed a tricky little exam administered by the Institute of Masters of Wine.

I work in the wine business, talking about wine and training other people how to talk about wine.

I am a full-time employee of a wine company called Constellation Wines US. Since I spend much of my life in wineries and vineyards that are part of this group, many of the pictures and observation might be taken where I work.

Just for the sake of disclosure, if I mention any of the wines that I am paid to work with, I will be as fair as I can be: I will not be awarding any badges to anything that my company is selling; if I give a wine a badge, I have no commercial involvement with it.

I do love many of the wines that I have the pleasure of working with. So if I talk about them, or what is going on in the vineyards or wineries, or relate discussions I have with vineyard managers or winemakers, it is because there is something of interest to report.
